Prince Edward VIII, Prince of Wales, visited Geelong in 1920. He toured around the country to extend thanks for Australia’s support during World War I, and to strengthen links to the British Empire.

His tour was popular, with droves of supporters seeing him around the country. His visit to Geelong saw Johnstone Park crowded to its limits. These two postcards show the Prince of Wales in front of the George Michelmore Hitchcock Memorial Art Gallery, as well as a view of the crowd from the Geelong Town Hall.
