1973
Geelong Gallery held a sculpture exhibition in 1973, displaying the work of a group known as Centre Five.
Centre Five was made up of five Europe-born sculptors (Vincas Jomantas, Clifford Last, Inge King, Julius Kane and Teisutis Zikaras) and two Melbourne-born sculptors (Lenton Parr and Norma Redpath) who were united in their interest in advancing modernist sculpture in Australia.
Geelong Gallery’s exhibition surveyed the works of Jomantas, Last, King, Parr and Zikaras, and was exhibited alongside a collection of contemporary prints by American artists.
