1978

In 1978, a committee was formed in Melbourne to restore Bodford Terrace (also known as Bedford Terrace), one of the city’s earliest Victorian-era terraces.

Bodford Terrace was built in 1868 and went through stages of appreciation and neglect before being recognised as an important heritage building in the late 1970s.

In support of its restoration, the Bodford Terrace Restoration Committee engaged eight high profile artists to produce a print in an edition of 300 published by Druckma Press, and printed by Neil Leveson and John Robinson.

Among these works was Nude in profile by Australian artist, John Brack, which was acquired by Geelong Gallery in 2015. Other commissioned artists for this project included Leonard French, John Olsen, Frank Hodgkinson, George Baldessin, Clifton Pugh, Franz Kempf and Les Kossatz.
