1985
Geelong Gallery held many events and exhibitions during 1985, including a fundraising auction of antiques and collectables, and an exhibition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander works.
Geelong Gallery also celebrated NAIDOC week with a dance performance by acclaimed Yolŋu dancer and actor David Dalaithngu and co-performers.
Dalaithngu and his dance group were on a year-long tour of Australia performing traditional dance from their home of Ramingining. Their aim was to showcase and educate groups at schools and organisations about their culture.
