We now turn our focus to the future. All great cities have great galleries.

Geelong Gallery has recently delivered a Business Case to the City of Greater Geelong Council and the Victorian State Government for the redevelopment and expansion of the Gallery. Our vision is to realise a 21st-century regional gallery of state significance—an expanded Geelong Gallery that drives creative thinking and attracts and inspires the people of Geelong and communities across Victoria.

Located in one of Australia’s fastest growing regional cities, an expanded Geelong Gallery will provide a transformative experience, one that connects art to community, and strengthens Geelong’s civic pride, identity, confidence and sense of purpose. An expanded Geelong Gallery will unlock the City’s creative potential, giving tangible form to Geelong as the only UNESCO City of Design in Australia, and enable an uplift in tourism that revitalises the health of our regional economy.
